Rome Research Project
With History Fair over, we are turning our focus back to Rome. Due to limited class time before the year ends, we are going to focus on a limited number of topics. To ensure everyone gets to learn about things they are interested in, each student is required to pick at least one topic involving Rome that they want to learn about. They will research their topic and then teach the rest of the class about their topic.
To help with the research, use the links below.

Athens Vs. Sparta
Below are a few websites that outline the similarities and differences between Athens and Sparta. Website #1 Website #2 Website #3 Website #4 Website #5 Interactive site to compare lives of males and females in both Athens and Sparta. Brief overviews of Athens and Sparta, with a focus on their military, rise to power and eventual downfall. The differences between Athens and Sparta eventually led to a war. Read about the Peloponnesian War to learn more about these city-states and their battles. Great site for everything Greece. Very kid friendly. Powerpoint on Athens Vs. Sparta - we are looking at this in class There are many other great resources just waiting to be found. One easy way to search for your own resources is to google "Athens" or "Sparta" or "Athens vs. Sparta". There are also many great videos on youtube. If you find something that you think the rest of the class should see, let me know and I'll add it to this list. Note Taking Schedule
Here you will find the pages on which to take notes, as well as the dates when they are due. You will be scoring your own notes on several categories. You can find the rubric below. During History Fair, all note taking will be done in class unless class time is wasted. We will have a quiz that day over the notes. The quiz is open-note, so any notes taken can be used on the quiz. |
